17th century miniature map of Virginia (first edition)

An interesting map of the Chesapeake Bay region from Mallet's Description de l'Univers. Based on Augustine Hermann’s seminal map of 1673 and subsequent cartographic sources, this map extends from the Saquesahanoug River in the north to Pomejok and Cape Trafalgar in the south, reaching inland along the Powhatan River and Toppoahonoc River.
